Head Cook Job Description

Bayview Christian Camp is seeking a Head Cook for our 2025 Summer Camp season. The position runs from June 29 to August 18 on site at Bayview. Bayview is located on Deer Island, NB and will be running camps for children and youth ages 8-17. Responsibilities
  • Menu planning for balanced meals, food purchasing, and receiving of deliveries prior to the start date of June 29
  • Oversees the preparation and serving of food at camp for groups of between 30-60 people.
  • Managing volunteers and staff; ensuring proper hygiene practices.
  • Overseeing the cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen and dining areas 
  • Food preparation, and dining room management.
  • Complying with New Brunswick Health and Safety regulations in the kitchen and dining areas.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Food Handler Certificate.
  • Well organized: Able to plan appropriate menus and order accordingly.
  • Good time management.
  • Experience cooking for large groups is an asset.
  • Able to work well with and serve those who are on the camp property.
  • Criminal background and vulnerable sector check
Remuneration
This is a full-time plus position from June 29 to August 18 with a competitive wage/salary. Accommodations will also be provided during this time period. If offered the position, an employment contract will be drafted.
